White-Out is a site-specific performance work created for Castletown House by resident theatre company The Performance Corporation, in collaboration with visual artist Oisín Byrne and electronic composer Jo Thomas, performed for the Allianz Business to Arts Awards on the 20th May.
White-Out is inspired by Castletown’s colourful history. The piece calls to mind the grand events of the house’s heyday while alluding, through the use of paper, to the ephemeral nature of a long-past epoch. The piece was developed at Castletown during The Performance Corporation’s international artists’ residency The SPACE Programme.
